New guy starting to restore 2 '57 Isettas
« on: August 09, 2013, 01:46:35 PM »
Hey all.  I have a pair of Isettas that I'm finally getting around to restoring.

One sat outside for at least 10 years (under a tarp) and needs a new floor pan and a lot of work.  Full restoration planned.  It's been in my garage for over 10 years awaiting restoration.

The other one sat in a barn since 1969 and is in pretty good shape other than all the rubber parts rotted out.  This one will be a minimal restore, just getting it safe to drive and leaving it a sruvivor.  It even has the original sun shades intact!

Time to get cracking!

How is the restoration going? Post some pictures and keep us updated. I am about to start on my 57 also. I purchased it a few months ago from the original owner. Parked in her garage in 1963 with 17k miles and never used again. No rust but a little beat up from the kids using it as a toy.
