What Oil for a 57 Isetta?
« on: September 29, 2014, 05:04:02 PM »
I am finally moving the 57 Isetta I inherited from my father from my Mothers place to mine.  Its been sitting for several years but is still prestine.  The only thing that is missing is the fuel pepcock so I need to get one.  The problem is we have no idea what oil he had in it.  I am going change it but I have no idea what is the correct oil to put in it.  The engine was rebuilt and is loose and ready to start.  If someone can point me in the correct direction for what oil to use I would appreciate it.  The car will reside in Minnesota.

Thanks!

The car originally used 30W non detergent motor oil
You can use that or you can use 10W30 if you want.
It uses the same oil in the gearbox and in the chaincase.
Just don't mix the oil and gas. It is a 4-stroke motor, not a 2-stroke.
