Subaru 360 Need some help
« on: September 23, 2014, 04:48:57 PM »
Hi! My name is Bryan. I purchased a 1970 Subaru 360 this weekend. Overall the car is in really nice condition. It is rust free and runs wells.

I do have one serious problem though that I need to sort out. The brakes do not work very well, but they do work somewhat. The previous owner told me that the brakes worked a year ago before he put the car in storage. He also told me that the brake drums on these Subaru's are notorious for seeping brake fluid and that he bled the lines every year.

I didn't think the brakes on any car required being bled every year. Also I didn't think they should be "seeping" brake fluid either.

Unfortunately I cant find much information on these cars on the internet and the Subaru 360 forum has not approved my application yet. With fall/winter rapidly approaching I would like to get the brakes in safe working order before I park the car in the garage to wait out the winter.

Can someone on here help me?
